The only RAW software you’ll need

Capture NX-D is optimal for processing and adjusting RAW images with the NEF or NRW file extension, allowing for greater ease of use and convenience. This free application has been specifically created for images captured with your Nikon camera, whether it’s a DSLR, a Nikon 1 interchangeable camera or a COOLPIX compact camera. Nikon's exclusive function for specifying imaging characteristics, Picture Control, is also supported.

Preserve RAW files in their original state

The new sidecar format saves adjustments to a separate file and preserves RAW files in their original, post-capture state as non-destructive files. You can start over with the adjustment of RAW images, without undoing previous adjustments. The sidecar format also makes it easy to simultaneously apply adjustments to multiple files.

More than RAW

The Capture NX-D also offers functions for correcting lateral colour aberration caused by lenses in JPEG and TIFF images as well as adjustment aspects such as tone curves, brightness, and contrast.

Easy-to-use display formats

Capture NX-D supports a variety of displays for the efficient processing of images. With filmstrip display, thumbnails can be positioned above, below, to the right, or to the left of the image area. When choosing images, you can compare RAW images before and after adjustments as well as view two or four images* for easy selection.

Multiple screens, minimum effort

When two or more monitors are used, the image display area can be expanded by moving individual floating palettes for each adjustment function. You can combine multiple floating palettes, which can then be moved together for increased convenience.

Additional features for improved convenience

The filtering functions lets you easily find the images you’re looking for by sorting them according to criteria such as camera name or lens focal length based on the tag data. Batch processing can also be used to simplify the troublesome process of applying adjustments to multiple images.
