Please be informed that the offer of free servicing to replace the failed electronic component for these cameras has expired on 31 August 2011. Requests to address this issue received on or after 1 September 2011 will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.
The following Service Advisory alerted owners of COOLPIX 5700, COOLPIX SQ and COOLPIX 3100 Nikon digital cameras that Nikon would service the affected cameras free of charge regardless of the warranty status of the product. Some models have already been serviced to resolve this issue, at no cost to the user, even after the stock for the repair parts are no longer available. However, please be aware that the term for this offer will expire on 31 August 2011. Services required to address this issue after the offer expires will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.
Kindly contact your nearest authorised Nikon Service Centre(s) as soon as possible to have your camera inspected and serviced.
Please be aware that repair parts for some older models may no longer be available, making repairs other than the free service discussed here impossible.

It has come to our attention that an electronic component related to imaging in some the COOLPIX 5700, COOLPIX SQ and COOLPIX 3100 digital cameras may, on rare occasions fail.
Should you experience this problem with your Nikon COOLPIX 5700, COOLPIX SQ and COOLPIX 3100 digital camera, Nikon will replace the affected component free of charge upon camera inspection even if the warranty of your camera has already expired. Please read the following for more details.

In addition to repairing this problem free of charge, Nikon will also reimburse the cost of repairs to those owners who had previously paid to have this problem corrected.
