Service Advisory for Nikon D2H Digital SLR Camera


Please be informed that the offer of free servicing to replace the failed electronic component has expired on 31 August 2011. Requests to address this issue received on or after 1 September 2011 will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.


The following Service Advisory alerted owners of the Nikon D2H Digital SLR camera that Nikon would service the affected cameras free of charge regardless of the warranty status of the product. However, please be aware that the term for this offer will expire on 31 August 2011. Services required to address this issue after the offer expires will be handled in accordance with standard Nikon repair policies.

Please contact your nearest authorised Nikon Service Centre(s) as soon as possible to have your camera inspected and serviced with the offer period.

It has come to our attention that an electronic component related to exposure control in some Nikon D2H Digital SLR cameras may, on rare occasions fail.

Should you experience this problem with your D2H camera, Nikon will replace the associated component free of charge even if the warranty of your camera has already expired. Please see the following for more details.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have suffered because of this problem.

[ Indications ]

  1. The electronic analog exposure display becomes unreliable with shooting, the exposure display always shows the same settings (does not change), images are over or underexposed.
  2. The autofocus fails and camera is unable to focus automatically.

In addition to repairing this problem free of charge, Nikon will also reimburse the cost of repairs to those owners who have previously paid to have this problem corrected.
