Jake Wilton is a professional underwater and nature photographer from the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. He began his photography journey in 2019 while living and working on the world heritage listed Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia.
His passion for the ocean and experience working in the dive industry led him to becoming an underwater photographer onboard tour boats in Coral Bay. Since working primarily underwater, Jake has now expanded his portfolio to include wildlife, landscape and travel photography working commercially in these fields both domestically and internationally.
His work has been successful in a variety of renowned international photography competitions including Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year, Ocean Photographer of the Year, Oceanographic Pictures of the Year, Underwater Tour Awards, and Australia Zoo Crikey Magazine Photos of the Year.
Jake hopes to use his passion for nature and the ocean to inspire others to gain a better appreciation and desire for the protection of our natural world and its wildlife.

I have used Nikon since my very first steps into photography in 2019 where I started out with the well known D500 crop sensor DSLR. Once I began working as an underwater photographer I moved onto the D810 underwater before progressing onto the Z7II mirrorless camera, both of which yielded fantastic results.
Nowadays I use the Z8 camera for all of my underwater, wildlife, landscape and travel photography both recreationally and professionally. It is a powerhouse of a camera and my favourite Nikon model so far! The quality and reliability of the Nikon equipment is outstanding and has never let me down.
