The aperture control (AE) is built with the adoption of an electromagnetic aperture mechanism to ensure every shot is precise, even with continuous shooting, and to bring you a highly dependable lens.

Be it rain or shine; the lens features superior dust- and drip-resistant performance[2] that effectively seals the lens against dust and water droplets from the moving parts on the lens. Meanwhile, the frontmost lens elements are covered in fluorine coat for anti-fouling performance, effectively repelling contaminants and making the cleaning of the lens easy. These thoughtful features ensure that users can take advantage of the lens’ durability and improved strength in whatever situations they may undergo to take the perfect shot.

The highly adaptable lens caters to a variety of needs with an assortment of accessories as it supports both the conventional screw-on filters and rear gel filters. It also provides the option between a dedicated lens hood that supports filter attachment (HB-97) where a 112mm screw-on filter can be attached directly to the hood, or the normal lens hood (HB-96) that is suitable to be used when there is no filter attachment. The latter can be the right choice for those on the go as it allows for enhanced portability with its smaller size.
